Apparently, the Spanish Olympic basketball team is kinda racist. Making slanty eyes might have been funny when you were 6 and really didn’t know that you were being insensitive. But to do it when you are an adult, , IN FRONT OF A CAMERA, and then to have that picture be published! Way to go Spain!

So the makers of the “Sock Obama” doll have ceased to make the cutest, yet most racially insensitive doll, and thier PISSED about it. In a letter to the Salt Lake City Tribune they wrote,
We at TheSockObama Co. have some questions to pose. What’s really going on in America? In the good ol’ fashion spirit of entrepreneurialism ; free enterprise has been censored, and TheSockObama politically plush toy has been discriminated against in the marketplace of the United States of America.
What they don’t realize is that they weren’t censored. Nobody stopped them from making these dolls. Just a lot of people told them they were being subvertly racist and their manufacturer stopped making them. They are more than welcome to make them, they will just be viewed as slightly racist. Thats all.

This is something that I have held true for many years, but Weird Al Yankovic is an American hero that crosses the divide between us and the Middle East. Just think, if we had sent Weird Al to Israel we would have resolved that conflict YEARS ago. If you dont believe me, read this NY Times article
